This playful, low maintenance kitchen sits at the heart of a sustainably built home in Purton, Wiltshire.
With sustainability as a foundational consideration throughout our client’s self-built home, selecting enduring materials was central to our brief. Our hands-on client had a strong eye for detail and a great working relationship with the architect, who prioritised clean lines, tall ceilings and lots of natural light in their design.
We designed a kitchen where colour, texture and thoughtful details come together to create a functional space suited for everyday use, whilst honouring the concept of the build.
A Vibrant Open-Plan Kitchen Design
Simple white walls and an industrial polished concrete floor formed a blank canvas for us to design from. This neutral open plan backdrop was built for a bold and colourful kitchen to sit in proudly, allowing the cabinetry to take centre stage at the heart of the home.
Colour and texture were prioritised through the mixing of carefully chosen materials. The bold blue was selected by the client from outside of our standard palette. HPL Blu Berta gives the cabinetry a confident and playful edge, whilst Oak Timber Veneer was strategically placed on the scalloped handle inlays and end panels, injecting natural warmth and texture into the details.
Durable & Sustainable Material Choices
Sustainability and durability were top priorities for the client, and a huge part of why he chose to trust HUSK his kitchen design. Every material was selected to withstand the test of time, remaining fresh while keeping maintenance minimal.
We love our new kitchen; the colours, the design details, everything! The people we dealt with were really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, making ordering and delivery really easy.
