A fully bespoke family kitchen & utility in north Bristol, with soft and timeless detailing.

Located in Montpelier, Bristol, this bespoke kitchen was designed to feel calm, welcoming and full of character. HUSK x Another Country fronts in Purbeck Grey create a soft, understated palette, complemented by warm natural oak details throughout the space. The standout feature is the freestanding island, handcrafted by our sister company Young & Norgate, which introduces the feel of a beautifully made piece of furniture rather than a traditional built-in kitchen island.

The combination of painted cabinetry, natural timber and Neolith’s Pietra di Osso worktops creates a kitchen that feels both contemporary and classic. Blackened Bronze Wave Handles and Oval Knobs from MG&Co add a subtle handcrafted finish, while bespoke oak floating shelves provide practical storage and an opportunity to display ceramics, books and everyday objects that give the room its personality.

Complete bespoke cabinetry throughout

Created through our Bespoke Design Service, every element of the kitchen was carefully considered to suit both the home and the client’s way of living. The brief centred around creating a highly functional family kitchen with a softer, more furniture-inspired aesthetic, leading to the inclusion of the bespoke freestanding oak island as the heart of the space.

The project also included a bespoke utility room, where custom cabinetry neatly conceals pipework behind HUSK x Another Country fronts painted in a bespoke Douter by Farrow & Ball finish. Throughout the renovation, our team worked closely alongside the client’s architect, builder and trades, managing the design, manufacture and installation to ensure the kitchen integrated seamlessly into the wider project.

The design service was perfect, they came up with excellent drawings, visualisations and inspirations, as well as tailoring it to any client-requested ideas. We really wanted a free-standing kitchen island (on legs, rather than built into the flooring) and HUSK recommended their sister company Young & Norgate as the joiners who made us a fully-bespoke beautiful oak kitchen island.

Integrated appliances for everyday cooking

A suite of Fisher & Paykel appliances has been carefully integrated throughout the kitchen, including an induction hob with downdraft extractor, built-in oven stack, microwave and freestanding fridge. Thoughtfully positioned within the bespoke cabinetry, each appliance contributes to the clean aesthetic while providing the performance and practicality needed for everyday family life.

A utility room that complements the kitchen

Designed as a natural extension of the kitchen, the bespoke utility room combines clever storage with beautifully crafted cabinetry. Pipework is discreetly hidden behind HUSK x Another Country fronts painted in a custom Douter by Farrow & Ball finish, creating a practical space that feels cohesive with the rest of the space.

The HUSK team were excellent from start to finish, managing the design, manufacture and installation of our kitchen and utility room. They worked seamlessly alongside the other renovation works in our home, coordinating closely with our building contractors, architect and plumber.

With so many moving parts and scheduling pressures involved in a renovation, having HUSK expertly manage the focal point of the project made the whole process feel stress-free and incredibly well organised.
