A Mid-Century Walnut Kitchen in Bristol
When Lois and Tom began planning the kitchen for their side return extension in Bristol, they were searching for something warmer and more characterful than an off-the-shelf solution. Inspired by mid-century modern design, natural materials and soft greens, the aim was to create a sociable space for cooking, gathering and everyday family life.
Starting with Howdens cabinetry as a base, they layered in our custom elements to achieve a more tailored, design-led finish. HUSK supplied walnut fronts and matching end panels, bringing depth and texture to the scheme, complete with integrated scallop handles with walnut inlay, plus handcrafted walnut linear handles for the tall units. The natural timber brings calm and richness, giving the kitchen a bespoke look while working seamlessly with standard cabinetry.
From the outset we had a really clear idea of the kitchen we wanted — a mid-century modern feel with walnut fronts and splashes of green — and we knew HUSK could deliver something that not only felt bespoke but was within our budget. HUSK gave such great advice about materials, colour combinations, and answered our endless questions so patiently, making it a really easy and fun process.
