Some homes have an effortless calm, and the Tetbury kitchen is one of them.
The design draws inspiration from Scandinavian simplicity, using a clean monochrome palette, high-quality materials and a kitchen island with its own bespoke bookshelves (because cookbooks deserve a good home too), to create a space that works as well as it looks. Our clients came to HUSK looking for something beyond the standard IKEA offering, a refined, understated solution, and we delivered a kitchen that looks as good as it performs.
The Cabinetry
The kitchen features a monochrome palette with a twist: FENIX Nero Ingo fronts on plywood for the wall and base units, contrasted by FENIX Bianco Male on ply for the island. FENIX surfaces aren’t just striking to look at; their ultra-matte finish is highly durable, resistant to scratches, and easy to maintain, making them ideal for a busy, high-traffic kitchen. The result is a space that feels calm, balanced and modern, while standing up to everyday life.
We were project-managing the renovation ourselves, and honestly, dealing with Husk was the least stressful element of the whole build. They understood the assignment, took our plans and ran with them. There was a constant stream of communication and everything came together beautifully. Our kitchen looks incredible and is constantly complimented – we love it.
The Kitchen Island
The kitchen island is built around IKEA units, clad in FENIX Bianco Male with a bespoke open shelf and an integrated hob. The worktop is Marmoreal by dzek, adding a small hit of colour and pattern to the otherwise pared-back scheme. The kitchen cabinetry work surfaces are 20mm Just White from Neolith, keeping the overall look clean and consistent.
Handles & Glass
Integrated scalloped handles with oak inlays bring a softer detail to the flat fronts, and IKEA’s HEJSTA reeded glass doors break up the solid runs with a lighter touch.
