HUSK’s new Bristol showroom on the historic Christmas Steps
Our Christmas Steps showroom has been designed to feel calm and design-led, inviting visitors to explore materials, finishes, and details up close. Drawing inspiration from both British and Scandinavian design, British craftsmanship is paired with the calm minimalism and considered detailing associated with Scandinavian interiors.
Located on Bristol’s historic Christmas Steps, one of the city’s most characterful and independent streets, the showroom sits within a listed building in the heart of the city centre. Dating back to the 17th century, the Steps have long been home to makers, craftspeople, and small businesses, making it a natural location for HUSK. The space reflects our belief in combining traditional craft with contemporary living and marks a period of growth, bringing showroom and office together under one roof while remaining closely connected to our Bristol workshop just a few miles away.
The idea was to create a customer experience which doesn’t feel like a showroom at all and more like a home interior.
The Main Kitchen Run
The main run fronts are in crown-cut oak with a clear lacquer finish. Solid curved oak handles give a clean, modern edge, while the seamless cabinetry highlights the consistency of the veneer. A built-in pantry and cabinetry built around the Fisher & Paykel ovens and integrated Fisher & Paykel fridge create a continuous run. A matching crown-cut oak plinth runs across the floor, while extra-height storage makes full use of the room’s height.
The Central Kitchen Island
At the heart of the space sits a statement HUSK kitchen island in FENIX Beige Luxor, featuring drawers with XL scallop handles and matching Beige Luxor inlay. The reverse side of the island features open stick shelving in crown cut oak timber veneer on MDF, adding warmth and scandi style. The island is topped with a Rapolano worktop from Neolith, adding a durable and subtle stye.
The main showroom walls are painted in Bauwerk Bone, creating a soft, neutral backdrop.
Japandi-Inspired Styling
Styling across the showroom takes cues from British craft alongside Scandinavian and Japanese influences. A simple Sapele shelf with minimal ceramic and glass styling adds a lived-in feel, while Rapolano worktops by Neolith introduce subtle texture. The HUSK x Ro Projects fronts in Horchata, a soft off-white, are fitted to Howdens cabinetry and framed by bespoke Sapele timber veneer wall panelling, creating a calm and cohesive finish.
Integrated Custom Pantry
The custom pantry is integrated into the crown-cut oak run and designed as a functional coffee and prep area. It includes two deep solid walnut drawers, internal Rapolano worktops by Neolith with a plug socket for small appliances, and interiors lined in walnut Egger to complement the solid drawers. Automatic LED lighting completes the space, keeping it simple and practical to use.
