A blend of tradition, modernity, and personal style, a contemporary yet timeless family kitchen in Hackney.
The clients came to HUSK with a strong vision, seeking a kitchen that could harmonize the sophistication of modern design with the practicality needed for everyday family life. They wanted a space that respected the original Victorian architecture of their home while embracing contemporary style.
Flooded with natural light, this kitchen invited the clients to go bold with colour. The rich blue cabinetry, set against pale walls and rustic stone flooring, creates a bright and inviting atmosphere.
In the Powerscroft Road Kitchen, HUSK custom fronts are crafted from water-resistant MDF, providing a versatile and cost-effective foundation that allows the clients to paint them at home.
This DIY-friendly approach gives the clients the flexibility to personalize their space, and they chose Farrow & Ball’s Stiffkey Blue – a dramatic inky blue that contrasts strikingly with the natural stone floors and light walls. The bold cabinetry is accented by Buster & Punch’s brass pull bars and metro handles, adding a touch of elegance and timeless appeal to the space.
The clients’ personal touches – including a curated art collection, locally made ceramics, and a rustic dining table – add a sense of playfulness and warmth, making the kitchen a true heart of the home. It’s a space that balances elegance with livability, blending old and new in a way that feels both intentional and effortless.
