A Scandinavian-Inspired Transformation. Inspired by the tar-blackened cottages of Scandinavia, the Birtley Road Kitchen combines minimalist design with the warmth of natural wood.

This kitchen’s contrast between a natural White Tint Oak island and Smoked Oak wall cabinets embodies a modern take on Scandinavian style, while V-Groove detailing on the cabinets evokes traditional timber cladding.

A Refined Scandinavian Vision

The Birtley Road Kitchen originated from a collaboration with a client who initially worked with Howdens but sought a more custom, high-quality finish that would truly capture their vision. Finding the standard offerings insufficient, the client collaborated with HUSK’s designers to explore a curated selection of hardwood veneers.

Together, they settled on White Tint Oak for the island, bringing in a natural, light contrast to the deeper Smoked Oak wall cabinets. This combination delivers the Scandi-inspired tones they desired, along with the durability of quality wood finishes.

Bespoke Additions and Thoughtful Layout

Beyond cabinetry, the Birtley Road Kitchen incorporates several bespoke elements unique to HUSK. The kitchen features a long run of overhead cabinets that not only maximise storage but also create a streamlined aesthetic, enhancing the feeling of openness in the large space. The White Tint Oak island includes custom shelving, allowing for functional yet decorative storage, and the classic HUSK breakfast larder integrates beautifully into the design, adding a convenient space for daily essentials.
